How this is worked out, and its limits

High, medium and low follow the UK FSA traffic-light criteria per 100 g: sugar over 22.5 g is high and 5 g or less is low; salt over 1.5 g high, 0.3 g or less low; saturated fat over 5 g high, 1.5 g or less low. Salt is sodium × 2.5. One teaspoon of sugar is about 4 g.

Product search uses Open Food Facts (ODbL licence, volunteer-maintained); Indian coverage is partial and values can be out of date. Always prefer what is printed on the pack.
